With the regionalization meeting tomorrow evening, we know everyone is concerned with taxes, bussing, safety and organization. But we implore our neighbors to ask if it\u2019ll fix this:<\/p>\n
These are the most recent available NJSLA scores for FTS<\/a>. They test the three bigs: Reading, Math and Science. We\u2019ve provided the graphs that the former superintendent and current Board of Education President presented to the community last school year. (Available on <\/a><\/span>the FTS\u2019s website.) We used the same data points, but simplified the categories down to (A) Passing State Standards or (B) Not Passing State Standards. In mathematics, FTS scored just 3.5% better. In Science, well, you can just judge for yourself.<\/p>\n When considering your votes, whether it be for the Board of Education election, bond referendums, or regionalization;<\/p>\n Have our students been getting the best and will our students be getting the best moving forward?<\/p>\n We\u2019ll have a presentation soon theorizing why these scores are so poor, and it might be surprising because we don\u2019t believe it\u2019s the teacher(s) fault. Our data seems to show the far majority of the teachers there have been working double time for possibility years to counter affect questionable staffing and budget choices.
